I have been waiting 6 years to tell you this story...

I have been waiting to tell you this story for the last 6 years.

Typing these words feels surreal, yet, simultaneously it somehow feels just like I always dreamed it would.

Home is a really big deal to me.

The feelings of belonging, being and becoming for me have emanated from coming home to myself, over and over again. Yet, for most of my adult life, I have been longing to carve out my own place in the world, that physically, gave me the safe haven to really dig in and do this soul work on a bigger level.

Since college, I've owned 2 homes and lived in countless apartments and condos, but none of these places fully embodied the sense of "home-ness" that I have been longing for.

I haven't been able to find a space that felt like me, deep down in my core...

Until all of that changed on a sparkly Sunday 6 years ago.

My husband was my then-boyfriend and were visiting friends at their waterfront home a few towns over. We took the kayaks out for a spin and had been talking about dream homes and what that might look like for us.

This was pre-kids, pre-engagement ring, pre-"us".

As we paddled around the bend, we came upon a gorgeous little home nestled in the trees with a for sale sign nailed to the tree by the dock (In New Hampshire, waterfront real estate signs are oftentimes more effective than the ones on the road).

We paddled up, curiously, and asked the owners who were barbecuing on the lawn with friends, about the property. They happily invited us up for a tour and a beer and long story short we were sold right there on that sacred Sunday afternoon.

The only problem was, the house was out of our price range, in fact, we didn't even know what our price range was as we were newly dating and weren't there yet.

We knew it wasn't the right timing, but neither of us forgot about this sacred spot.

A few years went by, we bought our first home in a sweet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful new friends and carried on with life. We got married, got promoted, worked and loved and regularly reflected on "our house," wondering who bought it and what would become of it.

Fast forward to 2013 and we happened across a listing for THE house. The market conditions were tough. It was winter, I was 5 months pregnant...but we rolled the dice and put our house up for sale.

And, sadly, nothing happened. Crickets. No offers and a mountain of disappointment.

But we realized that it wasn't the right time and prayed that it would wait for us.

We leaned in to our faith and trusted that if this was our home, we would be guided to it in divine timing.

Hit that fast forward button again to late May 2015 and an innocent evening on the couch. Me, scrolling through properties, as I do from time to time to see what's out there and to add to our family's vision board....and there it was...our house was for sale!

We stopped dead in our tracks, looked at one another and knew now was the time.

We scheduled a call with our mortgage broker, set up an appointment with the realtor and once we received our pre-approval, we were at the property making a full-priced offer with no contingencies other than to sell our current home.

The whole thing felt like an out of body experience, but while we were at our showing (now the third time we had been at this property in the last 6 years), I had visions of our future, of our daughter's future wedding right there on the grass...of family and celebrations and our love growing right here, on this very spot on the planet.

I told our realtor through tears that we could not lose it this time.

"This is our home," I whispered.

And so the Universe and so many people and forces put the wheels in motion to make this happen for us.

I am so overjoyed to share that we signed the papers on our house on Monday and we took our first inaugural paddle from our new shore before we even went to the closing!

And I must add that the odds to make this happen were slim.

We switched lenders 20 days before closing (Thank you Ryan, you are our hero!). We sold our house in 9 days and we faced a tidal wave of challenges, just about every step of the way.

It was an emotional roller coaster ride and our incredible family and friends were there to soften the blows and nudge us onward in the realization of this dream.

I believe, truly, that the faith we had in the divinity of this outcome combined with our unwavering commitment to do whatever it took to make it happen resulted in our dream coming true.

Because that's how it works.

Imprinting on a vision. Connecting the sacred dots and going all in to make it happen is the surest way to realize your dreams.

I am overjoyed to share this story with you today, as it is proof positive that manifesting our dreams is possible.

Let it serve as an affirmation for you and me that it begins with the courage to declare what it is you truly desire with unwavering faith and an inspired action plan to bring it to life.

The energy and love you bring to your visions will be reciprocated ten-fold.

You can do this.
